At Dairy Adventures, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword — it’s part of our everyday life. As a working dairy farm, we’re deeply connected to the land, our animals, and our local community. We’ve built our tourism experiences to reflect our genuine commitment to doing things the right way — responsibly, respectfully, and with care.
Everyday Sustainability in Action
Farm-Fresh Practices: Our popular Feeding Frenzy experience uses milk straight from our dairy vat and colostrum from our cows, ensuring nothing is wasted. Cows and calves are also fed crushed grain and hay grown and processed right here on the farm where we crop approximately 4,000 acres.
Small Group Tours: We keep our tour sizes small to reduce stress on our animals and limit our environmental impact.
Low-Waste Approach: Where possible, we reuse materials, minimise packaging, and avoid unnecessary printing. We also make use of existing infrastructure and buildings instead of developing new facilities.
Local First: We actively encourage visitors to explore other attractions and businesses across the Murraylands to support our wider regional economy.
Educating with Purpose
One of our core goals is to educate the community and beyond about where food comes from, and what sustainable farming looks like in real life. Every experience at Dairy Adventures is designed to be hands-on, educational, and grounded in authentic farm life — giving visitors a real look at modern, responsible agriculture in action.
Always Evolving
We’re always looking for new ways to improve. Whether it's upgrading accessibility, reducing our footprint, or collaborating with local operators, our mission remains the same: to provide meaningful, memorable, and sustainable experiences for every guest.

Our Commitment
At Dairy Adventures, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. As a working dairy farm sharing hands-on experiences with the public, we’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint, promoting responsible farming, and supporting our local community for the long term.
🌿 Environmental Practices
On-Farm Feeding: We use milk directly from our dairy vat and colostrum from our cows to feed calves — reducing transport, waste, and refrigeration needs.
Home-Grown Grain: Our calves are fed grain grown on our farm and crushed on-site, minimising external inputs and food miles.
Minimal Waste: We limit single-use packaging, reuse materials where possible, and reduce printing by communicating digitally with guests.
Small Group Sizes: By limiting tour group numbers, we reduce wear on the land, minimise stress on animals, and control resource usage.
Existing Infrastructure: All activities are delivered using existing farm infrastructure, reducing the need for new construction and associated emissions.
🌏 Climate Considerations
Reduced Travel Footprint: We attract visitors from nearby regions, with most guests travelling from within 1–2 hours of Mannum, reducing emissions from long-haul travel.
Low-Emission Tours: Tours are conducted on foot and integrated into daily farming routines, avoiding the need for extra vehicles, machinery, or energy use.
♻️ Ongoing Goals
Continue to prioritise locally sourced and seasonal supplies when catering is involved.
Introduce composting and improved waste separation on tour days.
Increase native planting around visitor areas to support biodiversity.
Explore solar energy options for future infrastructure needs.
Regularly review farm and tourism practices to align with evolving climate-conscious strategies.
💚 Education & Impact
We see education as a powerful sustainability tool. By showing guests firsthand how food is produced responsibly and sustainably, we aim to inspire a new generation to care for the land and make informed choices.
